Abstract: Pig production is one of the major industries of Zhejiang animal husbandry. Industry leader is the most important factor of stable development of pig industry. According to a survey of 244 households in the pig industry leaders， age， educational level， the scale of farming， training conditions and other characteristics were analyzed， and the main problems faced in the production of the production technology and financial management were summarized， which indicated that their knowledge update demand was inclined to new training organization and practical technical training. Some suggestions such as formulating training plan， innovating training mechanism， expanding innovation training content and services， building up a communication platform were proposed.
