Abstract: In this paper， lights application in major parks and green lands in Shanghai were investigated. The results showed that Landscape lighting with hanging modelling lights， outline lighting with winding or covering of string lights and flood lighting with flood lights were the main and popular application types in plant landscaping; Metal halide lamp， sodium lamp and LED were widely used in Shanghai landscapes; light colors were given priority to yellow， green， red， blue and violet; light intensity were different according to light types and the distances between lights and plants. At last， the common forms of landscape lamp configuration and its likely impact on plants were summed up.
