Abstract: Taking 36 city development zones in Gansu province as an example, through the establishment of evaluation index system, this article took a quantitative analysis on the evaluation of land intensive use in development zones on the basis of variation coefficient method with determined weight. The results showed that it was possible to evaluate the coordination degree of intensive land use zone system and the subsystems, and it can identify the specific indicators and its actual level of uncoordinated system according to the efficiency values of single indicator. The coordination degree of three types of intensified land use was quite different. The coordination degree of the land intensive use of the high-tech industrial park was the highest, and the economic development zone and special industrial zone were relatively lower. The development context and evaluation scope of parts of the development zones was inconsistent, which caused that the evaluation results could not reflect the true situation of the development zones, so it should be considered to adjust the scope of parts of the development zones.

Key words: intensive degree, coordination degree model, intensive land use evaluation
