Abstract: Based on RS and GIS technology， ecosystem service values (ESV) of Jiaxing City in 2005 and 2010 were calculated using the formula put forward by Costanza to identify the influence of land use/land cover changes. Ecosystem function deviation accumulation model and ecological service value flow were adopted to explore possible reasons for ESV changes during the five years. The results indicated that with the rapid development of urbanization and industrialization of Jiaxing City from 2005 to 2010， residential areas and industrial land increased most， and was followed by water area. But， cultivated land decreased dramatically. Due to the different ecosystem service value coefficients of each land use type， the increased ESV could not balance the losses， and consequently led to the decline of the total ESVs from 3283 billion yuan in 2005 to 3131 billion yuan in 2010 reduced by 464％．
