Abstract: The Nanting river basin is the main grain base of Lingcang， Yunnan， in which the overall agricultural production capacity plays an important role in local economy development. This study built a comprehensive judgment index model for agricultural production capacity in Nanting river basin with analytic hierarchy process （AHP） based on 15 different factors from 3 different aspects: agricultural input， output and agriculture production environment. The agricultural production capacity of Nanting river basin has been evaluated through the use of this model based on Yunnan Provincial level and national level. The results showed that the agricultural production capacity of Nanting river basin is medium in Yunnan Province， but falls behind the national level.
