Abstract: The changes of nitrogen and compost temperature by adding different contents of rice chaff during pig manure composting have been studied. The results showed that it could obviously improve fermented temperature during early composting period and could accelerate the maturity of composting by inoculating microorganism agent. Adding different contents of rice chaff could decrease nitrogen loss of pig manure and bad smell emission at different degrees in composting process，and 20% rice chaff was the best additional amount. After compost fermentation，the content of NO₃^--N decreased，while the content of NH₄⁺-N showed significant difference with different treatments.
