Abstract: This study aimed to explore the germplasm characteristics of Chunan spotted pig. By PCR\|RFLP method， estrogen receptor （ESR） gene， β subunit of follicle stimulating hormone （FSHβ） gene， growth hormone （GH） gene， melanocortin receptor 4 （MC4R） gene and ryanodine receptor 1（RYR1） gene were detected. The results showed that MC4R and RYR1 gene had only one kind of genotype， AA or BB respectively. ESR， GH gene had two kinds of genotypes， AB and BB. Genotype distributions of all genes conformed to Hardy\|Weinberg equilibrium in Chunan spotted pig populations（P>0.05）. The findings indicated that Chunan spotted pig has genetic characteristics such as better reproductive performance， lower lean meat rate， longer growing period and better stress\|tolerant.
