Abstract: Variation of hulless barley cultivars in different ecological regions were identified by SSR markers. Twenty-five materials from 5 different ecological regions including Xining, Lhasa, Hezuo, Maerkang, Shangri-La, five cultivars (Kunlun No.12, Zangqing 25, Ganqing No.5, Ahqing No.6, Kangqing No.7) were selected in the experiment. The results showed that different cultivars showed different genetic variation rates in which Zangqing 25 showed the highest variation rate (0.264), while Gangqing No.5 showed the lowest variation rate (0.040). At the same time different ecological regions had different variation rates, in which Shangri-La's variation rate was the highest (0.144), while in Hezuo, the variation rate reached the lowest (0.064). Changes in environment led to different variation behaviors. Zangqing 25 was the most sensitive to environmental changes. In Hezuo, hulless barley had the lowest variation rate because of its good growing conditions, while complex environment led to the highest variation rate in Shangri-La.
