Abstract: The antifungal activity of Vetiveria zizanioides extract against five plant pathogenic fungi was determined by mycelium growth rate method. The results showed that the petroleum ether (PE)-soluble fraction and EtOAc-soluble fraction had inhibitory activity against Rhizoctonia solani, Colletotrichum musae, Alternaria solani, Fusarium oxysporium, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, with the EC50 values of 1.844 and 3.470 mg·mL-1 against Rhizoctonia solani, respectively. The outdoor pot-cultivation test showed that petroleum ether-soluble fraction exhibited significant inhibition activity at concentration of 0.025 g·mL-1, and the protective and curative control efficacies were 66.70% and 14.16% respectively. The research is benefit for the control of plant disease and the development of plant germicides.
