Abstract: The accumulation and distribution rules of dry matter and main nutrients of oriental tobacco were studied in Zhejiang. The results showed that the peak period of dry matter accumulation in leaves and stem of Samsun and in leaves of Canik was during 35-65 days after transplanting, while that in stem of Canik was during 30-80 days after transplanting. Also, the distribution ratio of dry matter in leaves and stem was 32.18% and 53.98% in Samsun, and 24.74% and 58.78% in Canik, respectively. In addition, the absorption level of N, K and S in Samsun and the absorption level of N, P, K, Ca and Mg in Canik reached the peak during 35-65 days after transplanting, while the absorption level of P, Ca, Mg and Cl in Samsun and the absorption level of S and Cl in Canik reached the peak during 35-80 days after transplanting. Furthermore, during the growing season, the order of accumulation of major nutrients from high to low was K>Ca>N>S>Cl>Mg>P in Samsun, and was K>N>Ca>S>Cl>Mg>P in Canik. The accumulation of K, P, Ca, Mg, S in Samsun was higher than that in Canik, while the accumulation of N, Cl in Samsun was lower than that in Canik.
