Abstract: In order to obtain highly heat\|tolerant cucumber germplasms for the breeding of heat-tolerant cucumber varieties, thirty-eight cucumber varieties from different sources were employed to determinate both germination percentages of seeds at the germination stage and the indexes of heat injuries at the seedling stage at more than 40℃. And then they were comprehensively evaluated by membership function in the aspect of heat tolerance. The results showed that heat-tolerance of cucumber at germination stage was basically consistent to that at the seedling stage. Three highly heat-tolerant cucumber germplasms and 11 heat-sensitive ones were obtained on the basis of the above evaluations. The aforesaid results suggested that heat-tolerance of cucumber germplasms could be evaluated at both seed germination stage and seedling stage, and the heat-tolerant cucumber germplasms obtained would be the substantial materials for the breeding of heat-tolerant cucumber varieties.
