Abstract:  In order to reveal the effects of different seeding dates on rice quality of conventional photosensitive japonica rice varieties in Zhejiang Province, 16 conventional photosensitive japonica rice varieties were used as materials and seeded on 29th May, 28th June, 13th July in 2013. The results showed that the optimum seeding time for brown rice rate, milled rice rate, head rice rate and gel consistency of most varieties was 28th June; Amylose content increased with the postpone of sowing date, Gel consistency and amino acid content firstly rised then declined. In general, late sowing could get better quality.
