Abstract: The primary core collection of Chinese rice germplasm (including 203 materials) were used to evaluate their resistance to rice blast and bacterial blight. The materials with resistance to leaf blast and neck blast were 41.38% and 78.82%, respectively. Nineteen varieties(9.45%) and nine varieties(4.48%) showed resistance to 80%-90% and 70%-80% races of Magnaporthe grisea, respectively, and 6468% of the tested varieties exhibited resistance to 20%-30% races of M. grisea. There were two(0.98%) and six(2.98%)varieties exhibited resistance to 75% and 62.5% of the isolates of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. Oryzae(Xoo). One hundred and eighty eight varieties (92.61%) showed resistance to less than 50% of the tested isolates of Xoo. Among these varieties, Teqingxuanhui and Huangsiguizhan were highly resistant to both M. grisea and Xoo. It was observed that Jinxibai was highly resistant to POX99, which should be further studied.
