Abstract: Effects of varieties and major cultivation factors, including plant density, seeding time and amount of nitrogen fertilizer, on the wheat scab in Ninghai county of Zhejiang Province during 2009 to 2010 were studied. The results showed that ten selected wheat varieties showed significant difference in resistance to wheat scab, and the variety Ning71737 had the lowest disease index and the highest resistance level. With Yangmai 12 as research material, the wheat seeded in early and middle November in 2009 were most susceptible to wheat scab, the percentage of scab spikes and disease index were significantly higher than others. And there were no marked difference among different treatments of seeding quantity and amount of nitrogen fertilizer, respectively.
