Abstract: Lentinula edodes was used as the material to investigate the effect of chitosan on its growth and metabolism under bag cultivation. The results showed that when the chitosan concentration was 100 and 500 mg·kg-1, the mycelium grew fast and thickly, and showed significant difference from the control. The activities of CMC enzyme, FP enzyme, amylase, POD enzyme and peroxidase isozyme were the highest in the rapid growing period of the mycelium, and showed significant differences compared with the control. The concentration of 100 and 500 mg·kg-1 of chitosan were the best concentrations for the bag cultivation of Lentinula edodes.
