Abstract: According to OmpA gene of Pasteurella multocida published in GenBank, a pair of primers was designed. Using the primers, full\|length OmpA of C51-2-499, C51-3-500 was amplified by PCR. It was cloned into pMD18-T vector and then sequenced. The result showed that the full-length of OmpA was 1.068 kb containing a 1.068 kb open reading frame. The relative molecular weight of the deduced amino acid sequence (223 amino acid residues) was 37 969.8 kD and the pI value was 8.90. The alignment results showed that the nucleotide sequence homologies were 89.7%-99.1% and the deduced amino acid homologies were 82.9%-98.6% compared with six reference OmpA sequences of Pasteurella multocida published in GenBank.
