Abstract:

Agricultural resources panel data form 1994 to 2010 was adopted in the northeast six cities and southwest five cities in Zhejiang Province. Utilization efficiency of agricultural resources and its growth were studied empirically with Malmquist index of DEA. The results showed that: the average growth rate of total factor productivity of agricultural resources was 5.08%, that of technological progress was 5.14% and that of technical efficiency was-0.04% from 1994 to 2010 in Zhejiang Province. Technological progress was a major factor promoting TFP growth of agricultural resources, but the negative impact of decline in technical efficiency could not be ignored. As the different levels of technology progress and technical efficiency, utilization efficiency of agricultural resources was significantly different in every region in the province. Overall, the northeast region was higher than the southwest region in utilization efficiency of agricultural resources．
