Abstract: Effects of vapor-permeable reflective film mulching on sugar accumulation, organic acid content and bioactivator (total phenolics, anthocyanin contents) of two peach varieties were investigated, meanwhile, the antioxidant capacity was measured by assays of 1,1′-diphenyl-2-picrylhydraz scavenging(DPPH) and Ferric reducing antioxidant power(FRAP). The results showed that mulching of vapor-permeable reflective film significantly increased the total soluble solid content (TSS), reduced the titratable acid content (TA), and increased the total phenol content and antioxidant capacity. The correlation analysis showed that there was significantly positive correlation between the total sugar content and the sucrose content, as well as TA content and quinic acid and isocitric acid. This indicated that the increase of TSS under mulching of vapor-permeable reflective film was caused by the increase of sucrose content, and the decrease of TA content was attributed to the reduction of quinic acid and isocitric acid content. The total phenol content was significantly positive correlated with the fructose content, DPPH free radical scavenging capacity and iron ion reductive ability. It was concluded that the increased fructose content promoted the synthesis of phenolics and increased the antioxidant capacity of fruits; furthermore, the increased anthocyanin contents in the peel improved fruit coloring and increased fruit brightness, the L* and a* values were higher that the control under mulching of vapor-permeable reflective film.
