Abstract: The bacterial blight of rice is caused by the pathogenic bacterium Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae(Xoo), which resulted in great loss of rice yield and even led to lose production completely. More than 30 resistance genes had been identified, and only seven genes ([STBX]Xa1, Xa21, Xa23, Xa3/Xa26, Xa27, xa5 and xa13)[STBZ] had been cloned. The structure, encoded protein and action mechanism of the cloned resistance genes, except Xa[STBX]23[STBZ], were reviewed in this paper.[JP]
