Abstract: The drop of flowers and pods, and the physiological and anatomy characteristics of abscission zone of Phaseolus lunatus L. under high and low temperature stress were studied. Compared with the control, the drop rate of flowers and pods under high and low temperature stress was significantly increased by 262.90% and 202.69%,respectively. The content of soluble protein was significantly decreased by 34.10% and 43.33%,respectively. The activities of cellulase, polygalacturonase and peroxidase in the abscission zone were all significantly increased after high and low temperature stress. And the activity of these enzyme were higher under low temperature stress than high temperature stress,as well as the rate of the drop of flowers and pods. The analysis of anatomy charateristics showed that the volume of abscission zone cell became large and the cavity formed between cells under high and low temperature stress, which was beneficial to the fracture and shedding of the fascicular.
